1. Select your clothes

Take a walk down memory lane and remember how small they really were as you pull your chosen outfits out of storage and select 8-12 (animals) or 20+ (blankets) to be sent to me to work my sewing magic!

2. Order
your keepsake

When you are ready to start the transformation click

'start your order' and

complete the order form.

Select your desired keepsake, customization and method of getting your clothes to me.

Payment can be made by e-transfer to lenisbears@gmail.com once we meet for your clothes/clothes are mailed.

3. Mail
Your clothes

Once I receive your order I will reach out directly by email to confirm details and coordinate getting your clothes to me (check your junk mail just in case!).

If you are in Vancouver, BC we can meet in person, otherwise I I will provide a mailing address and you can package and send to me. Feel free to include any notes letting me know about the pieces or special requests.

4. Sewing your
keepsake

Once I receive your clothes I will begin the process of placing, carefully cutting and stitching together your one-of-a-kind piece! Once it is ready I will reach out to coordinate a pick up or let you know when to expect in in the mail (Canada Post). Frequently Asked QUESTIONS

How Do You Create the BEARS?

Each keepsake item is custom designed based on the items provided. Items are laid out before any cuts are made to best feature special pieces and designs in the fabric as well as to be aesthetically pleasing. Once I am satisfied with the design I lay out the pattern to cut each piece before they are lined with interfacing to make the pieces sturdier and prevent any stretching during the sewing process. Eyes and name embroidery are stitched by hand and the nose is made of fabric. Each piece is stitched together then the bear is stuffed and the final openings are sewed shut.

Can I Choose The Design?

Absolutely! I want this to be the perfect keepsake for you. If there are items you would like used for specific parts or pieces you would like featured let me know! I also receive requests for things like no patterns on the face or symmetrical arms and legs etc. I will always try to accomodate any special requests and let you know if for any reason it isn't possible.

What Materials Are Used?

Fabrics for memory keepsakes are all provided by you (the customer) from your chosen keepsake clothes. F

For keepsake animals a 100% recycled hypoallergenic polyfil stuffing is used as is proven durable and safe for keepskes such as these. Embroidery floss and cotton thread are also used. For memory blankets the backing is also provided and is selected based on the blanket and customer preference - generally I use a minky fabric as it is so soft!

What happens to the extra fabric?

Unless you have specially requested to have the leftover fabric returned to you it won't be. If I have large pieces leftover (say from a blanket) I will include them with your keepsake.

If any clothing items you included as 'extras' are not used they will be returned to you with this finished keepsake.

Small pieces may be reused for other projects and scraps are eventually recycled.

What items work well?

Firstly the best items to chose are the ones that are most meaningful to you!

Most kids clothes work well including sleepers, shirts, pants, onesies, overalls, hoodies and dresses. You may also consider including blankets, swaddles, crib sheets, bibs, bows, bandanas etc. It may be nice to include a mix of pattern and some solids as well. You may consider items that have sayings, characters or decals that you want to include, the little animals on the feet are cute to include too!

What items are not usable?

I generally recommend staying away from super stretchy fabrics like bathing suits, knits (as they risk unraveling after cutting) and stiff jean. These materials just don't work as well as others.

How can I clean my memory keepsake?

To maintain the shape and stuffing quality of your keepsake bear, bunny and giraffe I recommend spot cleaning only with warm water or a gentle stain remover.

Memory blankets are machine washable on a cold wash delicate cycle, tumble dry low.

Frequent washing may impact the longevity of your keepsake as with any fabric.

Sending Your Materials

Customers are responsible for shipping their selected clothes/items to us for use in creating memory bears or keepsake items.

Please note:

Items should be clean before shipping
We recommend using tracked and insured shipping services
Customers are responsible for shipping costs when sending materials to us
Leni's Bears is not responsible for items lost, delayed, or damaged during transit to our location

Our shipping address will be provided after your order is confirmed.

Processing Times

Because all items are handmade and custom-created, processing times may vary depending on order volume and project complexity.

Estimated turnaround times:

Memory Animals: 2-3 weeks
Memory Blankets: 4-6 weeks

We will do our best to provide updates throughout the process.

Shipping Finished Orders

Completed orders are shipped using Canada Post.

At this time we only ship across Canada. Shipping costs are selected as an add on at checkout when you choose your delivery method.

Once your order has shipped, you may receive:

Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to carrier delays, weather conditions, holidays, or other circumstances outside our control.

Local Pickup

If local pickup is available, customers will be contacted to arrange a pickup time and location.

Lost or Damaged Packages

If your package arrives damaged, please contact us within [7] days of delivery with:

While we will do our best to assist, Leni's Bears is not responsible for shipping carrier delays, lost packages, or damage caused during transit after the order has been shipped.

Incorrect Shipping Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping details. We are not responsible for delays or lost packages caused by incorrect addresses provided at checkout.

Refund & Returns Policy

All memory bears and custom keepsakes are made to order using customer provided materials. Due to the personalized nature of these items:

All sales are final
We do not accept returns or exchanges on completed custom products
We do not offer refunds once work has begun on your order

Deposits and Payments

If a deposit is required:

Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been received or work has started
Remaining balances must be paid before the finished product is shipped or delivered

Customer-Provided Materials

Customers are responsible for sending garments or fabrics they wish to use in their keepsake item.
